Explore alternate energy options in a fun downtown setting.

Join your neighbors and learn more about replacing traditional vehicles with electric options, swapping car trips with bike and e-scooter rides, and updating gas-powered landscaping equipment with greener solutions. There will be plenty of fun with live music, food from local restaurants, and a Solar Car Derby for kids!

EV Car | Drive Greener

Dealers with TEST DRIVES

View and test drive the latest Electric Vehicle (EV) models at a range of prices all in one convenient location and from a variety of dealers, including Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Tesla and more! RSVP to get information on dealer test drives

Local Owners

Meet local EV owners as they show off their vehicles and share their experience as EV owners in New Jersey and Union County. Hear practical tips on setting up home charge points, as well as mapping trips and finding on-the-go chargers.

Electric Lawn Care Equipment | Garden Greener

Learn how you can move to battery-powered lawn mowers, leaf blowers, edgers, trimmers, and other lawn care equipment. See demonstrations, try the equipment yourself, and get your questions answered by experts. ACE Hardware will be on hand with giveaways.

Electric Bikes with Course | Bike Greener

Test drive e-bikes and e-scooters. Learn more about both options from local shops specializing in bikes and electric bikes.

Solar Car Derby | Play Greener

Kids ages 8-15 can build their own solar-powered derby cars with help from parents or friends. Then, they can attend the Green Energy Fair and participate in our Kids Solar Car Derby to compete for fastest, creative design, and most sustainable car!

Once registered, you will receive more information about signup procedures for specific competitions by age range as we get closer to the date of the event.

Participants are invited to design and build their own solar-powered cars from scratch or start with any model kit. Here are some examples:

Sustainable Row | Shop and Learn Greener
Hear from a variety of local groups and businesses in our Sustainable Row, where representatives from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), Sierra Club, CIEL Power, Solar Landscape, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, Union County Recycling & Planning, Union County Connects (Rails to Trails), Green Team members and more will be on hand to provide information on alternative energy resources and tips for residents.
