The Westfield Recreation Department is happy to offer programs for persons 65 and older who reside in Westfield. Be sure to sign up for our email/mailing list.

Senior Transportation
We are happy to announce, transportation services are back in operation!
The Westfield Recreation Department offers a free curb to curb transportation service to Westfield Residents who are 65 and over. The program runs Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting from 9 am to 1 pm. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are for medical trips, where Thursdays are for shopping trips to local businesses. We take appointments on a first come first serve basis up to the day before. All riders must fill out a registration form.
We look forward to traveling with you! For any questions or requests for a registration form please call Lauren at 908-301-1287. The call line is open from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 4:30 pm.

Forever Fit
Forever Fit is a fitness class for seniors who are 65 and older. It is a gentle class that includes cardio, stretching, and balance. This class will take place outside at the Westfield Memorial Pool Complex parking lot (by the basketball hoops). You will receive a free workout band and workout softball when you sign up! Please bring them to every class.
Origami Class
Learn Origami, the ancient art of Japanese paper folding, with Artist Joy Ann Cabanos. We will fold origami decorations that celebrate the season: simple flower and leaf, simple animals, a house, and origami toys. There will also be demos of complex models like the flapping bird and modular origami.
We hope you'll join us for a creative morning of paper folding fun!
Basket Bingo
Join us for Basket Bingo! There will be different baskets that you can win. Prizes include: dinner for two, gardening supplies, spring cleaning supplies, and much more! It will is just $5 to play with us.
Location: Tamaques Park picnic pavilion
Chair Yoga
Yoga is a practice involving breathing, mindfulness and specific bodily postures. It is widely done for health, relaxation and mental clarity. Chair Yoga is yoga practiced sitting on a chair, or using a chair for support. It is gentler and is more accessible to people who have difficulty moving and it gives all the benefits of a Mat (standing) Yoga practice.
ZUMBA GOLD®
Perfect For Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity.
How It Works: The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba® choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong.
Benefits: The class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility, and balance!
Location: Tamaques Park picnic shelter
Senior Fitness
A combination of standing cardiovascular work, strength training and balance suitable for older adults. The class will be beneficial without any equipment, however if you have light handheld weights or 2 water bottles, they can be utilized for an added benefit.
The class will be located at the Gazebo in Mindowaskin Park.
